I will be in Krakow and Warsaw in early October. This is my first visit to your beautiful country. I would like to fly fish very near to the centre of Krakow and Warsaw, or not too far using only public transport. I am especially interested in catching new salmonid species, and wonder if there are any huchen in Poland.
Any information very gratefully received. Djienkuye!

There are two rivers where are huchen. Dunajec about 100 km from Cracow and San over 200 km.
But there is fishery on river Raba near Cracov in Myślenice and still water fishery in gravel pit Cholerzyn

Hello Everybody,
I’m a German fisherman just planning the first ever fishing trip to Poland.
At the end of September I intend to fish the Bobr. Possibly near the city of Wlen.
I already found out that there are permits available in town. But unfortunately
I don‘ t know if that part of the river is really suitable for flyfishing.
What is the river like? What kind of fish can I expect? Is there a closed season?
Well, all in all I would be grateful for any kind of information.
Regards
Claus

You may find excellent fly fishing in the south east of Poland , I mean the river San. It's the only fishery worth reccomendation!

I leve near the bobr and i think that it is worth fishing,
You cant fish between pilchowickie dam and wlen after Aug 31 but there are lots of good spots between wlen and Lwowek slaski.
Near the town of sobota wher ethe bridge crosses the river is a good place to park and walk up and down,
i have better luck with the bigger fish with nymphs and streamers.
you cant keep any trout after aug 31 also.
the fish are strong and put up a good fight.
Its true that Polish rivers need some help if they are going to survive. But this river is pretty clean and the nature is great
call me or email me if you want someone to hit the river with.
i also have a pensionat 30 km from the river
also It is easy to get the permit in Luban.
good luck

Hello Claus, frankly speaking I have to totally back up Tomek's answer to Your question, it is very peculiar that You want to drive so many kilometers just with the purpose of fishing...I don't really intend to discourage You of course, but generally the amount of fish in our Polish rivers is pathetic...I haven't fished in the Bóbr but I presume that there won't be any exception from the average, nevertheless You have some alternatives like good Polish beer, and beautiful Polish nature, and maybe few other atractions, good luck!!
with regards Martin

Hallo. I can not reccomend any river in Poland for fishing. There is to less fishes
There is a very important difference between rivers You know and polish rivers. If you want to catch two trouts for example, you have to know exactly where are this two trouts, becouse it is all fish in 10km of river you can visit dayly.
In other situation, you will need a very good luck to catch a fish bigger than you streamer.
I have been two times in this area, it is no sense for me to ride hundreds kilometers. But if you want to, you will find a beautiful river, beautiful nature aroud.
